Tomorrow is the anniversary of China’s crackdown on peaceful protesters in Tibet.
Portland’s chapter of the Tibetan Youth Congress is marking the day with a Hunger strike and vigil at Pioneer square.
Tibetan Youth Congress chapters across North America will also be holding hunger strikes tomorrow.
China has occupied Tibet since nineteen fourty nine.
Last year there was a upswell of peaceful uprising against Chinese rule.
China responded with a harsh crackdown, that continues today.
Tenzing Kunratsang is the General Secretary at the Portland-Vancouver Chapter of the Tibetan Youth Congress.
The Hunger Strike will be going on all day tomorrow at Pioneer Square and will be followed by a Candlelight Vigil.
