A mass shooting occurred Sunday evening during a concert on the Las Vegas Strip, killing at least 58 people and injuring 515 additional people from either gunfire or people's flight to safety. Witnesses report thinking that the gunfire was fireworks at first, but they soon had realized that the screams they saw and bloodied victims collapsing around them was actually from gunfire instead. A lone gunman stood on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, and was shot and killed by police after several minutes of constant shots being fired at the thick crowd below. He had smashed the windows of his hotel suite room with a hammer and took aim at the crowd. More than 19 rifles and hundreds of rounds of ammunition were found in the suite, among which included guns that were thought to be AR-15-style assault rifles. Many officials claim that this horrific event was one of the worst mass shootings in US history. Our hearts and our prayers go out to the victims and their families...

The Multnomah County Library will be updating their rules for the first time in over twenty years. Beginning this November, they will be getting a lot stricter with the introduction of twenty-seven new rules. The first five rules will be for up to three years in suspension from library facilities because of possession of any marijuana or derivative product and of alcohol, acting in a threatening manner or for having a firearm. Another set of rules in the twenty-seven will be suspension for the day, mostly for houseless populations. Suspension will be for bathing in the bathrooms and sleeping in the library. MCL is offering a period for comments on their website to make the process more inclusive.
