As of Wednesday morning, the fire crews were able to contain the Eagle Creek fire up to 13 percent. However, the fire still continues to burn, although slowly, at 35,636 acres. The Oregon State Fire Marshal has said Wednesday that fire crew members have decreased to under 900 people because of big movements on Tuesday because the fire had crossed the Herman Creek going onward into the Camp Creek drainage. Water drops are being used to slow the fire down. It is not unlikely that residents still within the Columbia Gorge and maybe even the Portland metro area will see smoke coming from the fire's perimeter. Despite the small increases in fire activity, the evacuation levels of the surrounding area have remained the same. Weather throughout the rest of the week seem to be promising as temperatures cool and humidity rises. Maybe even some rain this upcoming Sunday.

Citizens of Salem, Oregon are planning to organize to impeach President Trump. A march is planned for this upcoming Friday in front of the capitol steps and will end when organizers provide information about the march goals and about other organizations in the Salem area with similar goals. Hurricane Jose remains unpredictable as it continues its tight loop in the Atlantic ocean on Wednesday. The clockwise motion of the Category 1 storm still makes lots of forecasting organizations like NOAA have a hard time predicting where it's going to go. Most places claim that it will remain in the Atlantic without making landfall. Other say that it may be aimed toward the Bahamas and the eastern coast of the United States, while remaining out at sea. There isn't a specifically dominant weather feature that is stering the storm which also keeps forecasters from predicting the path and intensity.
