A ballot measure has passed in the Lincoln County May Special Election which bans the aerial spraying of pesticides. It also includes language pre-empting corporate rights in favor of community rights, and is the first such law to be passed directly by voters in the nation. Supporters of the ban expect pushback, but also view the measure's success as an early step on a long road. KBOO reporter Sam Bouman has this report.
