Local activists from a number of groups are organizing a Portland March for Truth, in solidarity with similar marches taking place on that day across the country. They are demanding a full, open and independent investigation of ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Yesterday, the Justice Department named Robert Mueller, former FBI chief and (until yesterday) Washington DC lobbyist with the firm WilmerHale, as special counsel in the investigation. The appointment has drawn bipartisan praise in Washington for Mueller's perceived toughness, thoroughness and impartiality, but the local march organizers say their demands are more important now than ever.
For details, KBOO reporter Sam Bouman spoke with Lisa Stiller of the group Indivisible Oregon, who is party of the ad-hoc committee organizing the March for Truth.
