In 2015, former Baltimore Policeman Michael A. Wood Jr. took to Twitter to publicly blow the whistle on the corruption and abuse that he witnessed during his career.
"Jacking up and illegally searching thousands of people with no legal justification"
"Placing people in a situation where they can choose either a 6month guilty plea or face 20+years in prison."
Since then the former US Marine has founded Veterans Stand as well as the PLA, Police Leadership Association, which creates guides for professional enhancement and career development for police. He's also written a novel entitled Eliot.
He sat down with Jo Ann Hardesty for a wide ranging discussion of policing, race, reform, violence and the way forward.
