We have been watching Donald Trump announce the most astonishing rogues gallery of cabinet nominees ever assembled. Not only are his picks bent on demolishing the very agencies they would lead, they are for the most part totally incompetent. The only possible upside of this spectacle is the clarity that we're all under attack now and must stand together in resistance to this nihilistic agenda. Judging by the flood of emails being sent out from every progressive corner of the country, a lot of people are watching and organizing to oppose the coming Trump agenda. On this episode of Locus Focus we find out what are their plans. We talk with Ben Schreiber, climate and energy program director for Friends of the Earth, about what we can expect with the EPA, Department of Energy and State Department headed by the likes of Scott Pruitt (infamous for his serial lawsuits against the EPA), Rick Perry (one of three departments he said he would abolish, if only he could remember its name) and Rex Tillerson (Exxon CEO and close buddy of Putin).
Benjamin Schreiber heads Friends of the Earth's climate and energy team, having previously served as the organization's climate and energy tax analyst. Prior to joining Friends of the Earth, he was a staff attorney at Environment America where he focused on energy issues.
