Twenty-seven homeless people sat down out side city hall last night, and they say they plan to stay there until city government finds somewhere for them to live.The sit-in was started last Friday as a protest against the bridge sweeps being conducted by Portland police.The areas under the Steel and Burnside bridges have long been among the few safe places for the homeless to sleep, but recent harassment by Portland police and private security has driven many of them out.
