Solitary Confinement Within These Walls

‘The Bucket’, what prisoners call solitary confinement at the Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem, is a play created and performed by prisoners at OSP.  This play inspired Within These Walls, an event held in Portland on September 28^th.  Prison volunteer and entertainment professional Phil Stockton created and produced both events and hopes they will inspire further discussion, arts and expression both inside and beyond the walls of the prisons.  Assistant directors of ‘The Bucket’ were Sterling Cunio and Christian Hawkins. The second half of Within These Walls will air at a future date; the event was recorded by Karen James.
