Dennis Nyback recalls meeting jazz greats

          Tune in to THE OUTSIDE WORLD this Friday night at midnight and hang out w/Dennis Nyback as he tells tales of seeing great jazz musicians in person and having conversations with them.  He will also play examples of their work from rare LPs.  Tales will include seeing artists who played in the Twenties including Joe Venuti, Max Kaminsky, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Lionel Hampton and Benny Carter.  Thirties artists will include Jonah Jones, Roy Eldridge, Cozy Cole, Cab Calloway, Teddy Wilson and the Mills Brothers. More recent artists will include Jimmy Rowles, Page Cavanaugh, Jim Pepper, Chet Baker, Anita O'Day, Richie Cole. Many others as time allows, says Dennis. If you fall asleep during this show, you may end up writing a screenplay about a guy who wakes up in the right era.
