Interview with striking iron workers

Non union workers at the Instafab Company have been on strike since February 2015 for better working conditions, fair pay, and respectful treatment at work. Last week, the company was fined by the Washington State Bureau of Labor and Industry $30,000 for safety violations and hazardous conditions at its Vancouver, WA shop. In November 2015, the National Labor Relations Board found that Instafab owes striking workers back pay for wrongful termination.

Jamie Partridge interviews some of the striking workers in the run up to Thursday's Jobs with Justice Workers Right Board hearing, April 28, 6 - 7:30pm at the Mercy Corps NW, 43 SW Naito Parkway.

The Portland Area Workers’ Rights Board is convening a panel of community, faith and elected leaders interested in fair housing and healthy development to hear testimony from striking Instafab workers on working conditions in development projects that are also displacing long-time Portlanders of many races and classes.
