1972 Academy of Music run + Annotated Lyrics interview Part 2
Just before heading to Europe in 1972, the Grateful Dead played an extended run at the Academy of Music in New York. It was their only visit to this venue and they played several high quality shows, two of which were released commercially.
I'm compiling a show for you from the rest of the run and with an eye toward song lyrics, since David Dodd, editor of The Annotated Grateful Dead Lyrics will join today's broadcast for a conversation about the songs I play, and the new 50th anniversary edition. Plus there will be a special surprise guest.
