activists talk about what it takes to "get off the couch"

As Naomi Klein has pointed out, climate change “changes everything," but the window of opportunity to stave off climate disaster is fast closing — scientists tell us that we have just 10 or 15 years to keep global mean temperatures from rising above 2°C, and so avoid the worst impacts. Many of us get it that these are perilous times, but there can be a yawning gap between knowing and acting. What does it take to motivate us to bridge that gap? How do we participate in restructuring our world? Harlan Shober of the Climate Action Coalition, Maya Jarrad of 350PDX and Paul Spindel of the Pachamama Alliance and several local groups, talk about their own experiences, the challenges they’ve faced, and also how easy and satisfying it can be to just SHOW UP. Join in with your questions and comments—503-231-8187.    Hosted by Stephanie Potter.  (Show begins begins at 4min/18sec on audio)
