Music for 18 Musicians / In C Mali

Tonight, we'll hear a brilliant new recording of Steve Reich's mid-1970s classic, "Music for 18 Musicians" performed by NYC's Ensemble Signal, directed by Brad Lubman.  Also, last year on ADN we celebrated the 50th anniversary of Terry Riley's "In C".  Since then, a new interpretation had emerged, performed by Malian musicians on traditional African instruments -African Express presents: In C Mali.  The project was spearheaded by Damon Albarn, and the ensemble led by André de Ridder.  Tune in for these brilliant new interpretations of classic minimalist compositions. /// host: Andy Hosch
