Words and Pictures Jan 2015: Lowriders in Space and Picture This!
The new all-ages graphic novel Lowriders in Space, written by Cathy Camper and illustrated by Raúl Gonzales III, takes young readers on an adventure with colorful animal characters while affirming contemporary Latino artistry. Cathy Camper, a champion of the We Need Diverse Books campaign who works with schoolchildren on behalf of the Multnomah Public Library, joins host S.W. Conser in the KBOO studios.
We'll also be paying a visit to the All Jane No Dick comedy festival, where cartoonists and comedians team up onstage for the monthly Picture This! event with Curious Comedy Theater.
