The Film Show spotlights new puppet animation and 70mm film

This month, The Film Show is joined by filmmaker Toby Froud — best known as the enchanted infant from the 1986 fantasy movie Labyrinth — to tell S.W. Conser how a new generation of Hensons and Frouds is helping keep the art of puppet animation fresh.  Toby's short film Lessons Learned is playing at the Portland Film Festival's Shorts Series this weekend at the Clinton Street Theater.

Then, Jenn Chavez asks Dan Halsted about the Hollywood Theatre's move to bring 70mm film screenings back to Portland's historic movie palace.

And OMSI's Kristi Picio and Russ Repp are in the studio to talk about the local museum's current animation exhibition and to preview their upcoming film screenings and panel discussions.

Extended interviews with Toby Froud and Dan Halsted can be found at this page.
