An interview with, and great performances by, one of rock music's finest instrumentalists.
In advance of his appearance at Mississippi Studios on Tuesday night, Sept. 23, Elvis Costello's career-long collaborator, Steve Nieve, will speak to the Songcircle - all the way from Melbourne, Australia, no less!

Nieve's work on piano and organ helped to define Elvis Costello's style, as a member of the Attractions, and later, the Imposters. He's also toured prolifically as a duo with Elvis, and often been his right-(and left)-hand-man when collaborating with other artists.

In addition, Nieve (a nickname coined by Ian Dury) has released a string of solo albums featuring such guests as Sting, Laurie Anderson, Robert Wyatt and more, and is the co-composer of the opera Welcome to the Voice.

Our chat with Steve will be accompanied, of course, by a sampling of his best work, both with and without Mr. Costello.

For more information on Steve Nieve, please see Jeff's interview with him in this week's issue of Willamette Week.
