More...King Lear by TRCI Prisoners

 Johnny Stallings, Open Hearts Open Minds Executive Director, narrates prisoners’ performance of King Lear. In October 2013 the 5th annual theatrical performance directed by Stallings was performed at Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla, Oregon. Stallings, a prison volunteer, began facilitating weekly dialogues with the inmates and in 2008, at the prisoners’ request, they began rehearsals for a production of Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
