Juan Melendez exonerated death row inmate
Karen James interviews Juan Melendez who spent 17 years on Florida’s death row for a 1983 murder to which another man had repeatedly confessed--evidence prosecutors withheld. In 2002 Juan Melendez was exonerated and released from prison. As long as the death penalty remains a part of the American justice system, innocent people will continue to be sentenced to death. Juan shares his story of injustice, survival and hope.
