Battered Woman Overturns Murder Conviction
Karen James with Kathleen Blankenship, and Louise Bauschard, Voices Set Free. In 2001, Kathleen Blankenship shot her abusive husband, a former police officer. She was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison. Kathleen tells how she survived the abuse, law enforcement code of silence and corruption, and had her murder conviction overturned in one of the most notorious murder cases in Umatilla County, Oregon.
