Despites decades of active opposition, next month Portland intends to vote to fluoridate its drinking water. Or will they? Tune in to hear arguments in favor (if anyone accepts our invitations) and opposition to drinking water fluoridation. Contact City Council.
Commissioner Randy Leonard, the primary backer of fluoridation on City Council, refused KBOO's invite to participate in this live program. Upsteam Public Health, which is leading the advocacy campaign, twice refused to even respond to KBOO's invitations. Hmmmm.
But we're sure to speak with Michael Connett, JD from the Fluoride Action Network (FAN) which seeks to broaden awareness among citizens, scientists, and policymakers alike about the toxicity of fluoride compounds. FAN provides comprehensive and up-to-date information regarding all aspects of fluoride, from its purported dental benefits to its documented harm to human and animal health.
