On this week's A Different Nature, Rich L. brings you a crazy grab bag of Electronic Music oddities.
We'll hear some of Don Preston's (Mothers of Invention) newly released LP of Electronic pieces entitled Filters, Oscillators & Envelopes 1967-75.
We'll also hear some music from the retrospective compilation of Suzanne Ciani's synthesizer works, including music she made for video game giant Atari and others.
Also, Tom Cameron's wonderfully odd 1982 performance LP Music To Wash Dishes By (with his brainwaves controlling synthesizers and sequencers, performed in a busy park, to the bewilderment of picnicers and onlookers).
We'll also hear some of Craig Leon's amazing 1982 LP Nommos. If you have a Punk or New Wave record from the late 70's, there's a good chance you'd recognize his name as a producer (the 1st Ramones LP, as well as Blondie, Talking Heads, Richard Hell and Suicide, among others) but he also recorded some wonderful solo LPs of minimalist electronic music and collaborated with the likes of Arthur Brown.
Who knows what else we have in store? The grab bag is still being filled.
Hope you can tune in!
