Most of us thought big business already had too much congressional clout. Corporate banks have weakened banking reform, insurance giants have weakened health care reform, coal and oil companies use their lobbyists to delay climate crisis solutions and weaken environmental regulations. And now, under the guise of enforcing the free speech rights of the First Amendment, the Supreme Court has reversed decades of campaign finance reform. In a clearly partisan move, a majority of five justices has allowed corporations to spend unlimited cash on campaigns. What can we do about it?
