An audio drama and dark comedy, with a flavor of Oregon. Features interview with Dr. Jill Stein.

This is episode 21 of The Spirit of the Forest, an audio drama/dark comedy podcast that blends fiction, reality, and other audio worth considering.

On this edition, we hear the unfortunate story of a man named James and various ills he faces in his elder years, then we take a walk with Jim Huart who briefly discusses imperfections in city life.  We are then treated to the experimental, strange, improvised sounds of Project Aisle, performed live at Cotton Dog Farms in Corvallis, Oregon, and an interview with the artist follows, just before the live debut of Russian black metal band Deathwarg.  Unfortunately, they ruin their chance of a radio performance due to their profanity on stage.

As we change the channels a bit, we conclude with a long-form interview and walk in the forest with Green Party Presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein, who is running for the 2016 election.  She also ran in 2012. This interview starts at 31:50 in, and the discussion ranges from the current state of the environment and our industrialized reality, to Bernie Sanders and the 2016 election, to working toward a green future, and bringing together social movements and justice efforts. We acknowledge how we face the challenges of climate change, and reversing the trend of toxifying the planet if we want to have any hope for a future.

Special thanks is offered to the voices who appeared on this episode, which include Molly Arnold, Dan Crall, Jim Huart, the mystery man/woman from the youtube video, known as, "Angry Guy Yells at Trumpet Player," Dr. Jill Stein, Alex Kernew, and Catherine and Ingrid Stevens.  A thanks goes out to the music projects on this episode, which include Bing Satellites, Doug Sours, Deathwarg (Dan Crall and Adam Hughes), and Project Aisle.  We offer appreciation to Matt Kellam for recording Deathwarg and Project Aisle at Cotton Dog Farms, and to Jody Grage and Joel Peissig from the Jill Stein for President campaign, for their assistance in coordinating the interview with Dr. Jill Stein.  This episode was recorded in December 2015 through January 2016 in Corvallis, Oregon.
