A national secular group is urging the U.S. Senate to keep religious based discrimination out of the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA.
Today, the U.S. House overwhelmingly passed the annual defense spending bill for the 2013 fiscal year.
In a press release issued today, the Secular Coalition for America urged the senate to eliminate sections 537 and 538 from its version of House Resolution 4310.
The group says that the language in these amendments allow for discrimination and harassment against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender service members.
