The corporate media likes to start the history of the US-Iran relationship with the overthrow of the Shah Rezi Pahlavi in 1979, which conveniently renders the animosity of Iranians toward America as something mysterious. But if you go back further in time, you will find a very good reason for Iranian animus. In 1953 the US and Britain orchestrated the overthrow of Iran’s democratically elected Prime Minister.
