Amy Meyer is a longtime grassroots organizer for animal rights, committed to building people power and taking strategic action to end animal suffering. She started campaigning against animal experimentation while she was a student at the University of Utah when a PETA investigation found that the university was purchasing dogs and cats from a local animal shelter. The hard-hitting campaign ended “pound seizure” in the state and reduced the number of dogs and cats subjected to painful experiments at the university. She is now the Associate Director of primate experimentation campaigns at PETA, where she played a critical role in closing the University of Massachusetts-Amherst marmoset laboratory and securing airline policies that prohibit transporting monkeys destined for laboratories. She is actively working to end the monkey importation pipeline and shut down the seven National Primate Research Centers.
Chelsea V Davis, aka Veggies Do it Better, is a longtime vegan, community organizer, and entrepreneur. Over the last 16 years, Chelsea has organized 100s of vegan events ranging from protests and marches, local VegFests to international conferences, activist panels to fundraisers, and that’s just the beginning! Chelsea’s focus on collaboration and community building led her to co-found Animal Rights Collective Portland (ARCPDX). She is also the founder of Veggies Do It Better Events and the Vegan Night Market, the largest vegan event in the PNW.
