Please join us for Transpositive on KBOO Community Radio on Tuesday, November 19th at 6pm as we talk with Debra Porta and Ian Morton about the "Fall Into Pride" Community Resilience campaign. As temperatures drop, Pride Northwest prepares to be a provider of warming resources, food and to partner with shelter resources throughout the Portland area. Running from now, until the end of December, this community initiative intersects with Pride Northwest’s inclusion in the 2024 Willamette Week Give!Guide fundraising campaigns. Studies continue to indicate a disproportionate representation of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Two-Spirit, Intersex and Asexual identifying individuals among those in the unhoused community, and who often face additional discrimination and barriers, when trying to access resources. The mission of Pride Northwest, Inc. is to encourage and celebrate the positive diversity of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans communities, and to assist in the education of all people through the development of activities that showcase the history, accomplishments, and talents of these communities.
Transpositive is a biweekly program in Portland exploring themes important to those who identify as Transgender, Gender Non-Binary, and Gender Non-Conforming. Transpositive tries to connect listeners with the ongoing activism, arts, culture, and dialogue happening in Portland and beyond. Make your voice heard! Transpositive PDX is open to new and experienced programmers, guests, and events you want our community to know about. We are an open collective. Anyone who identifies as trans, gender non-binary, or gender fluid is welcome to be part of our collective after completing some basic free radio training.
