Round Midnight revisited
Thanks to the New Yorker's Richard Brody's recent excellent article
for inspiring this show
during our All Thrills - No Frills membership drive.
The 1986 film Round Midnight is renowned for
the music score mostly by Herbie Hancock,
Academy-Award-Nominated acting by Dexter Gordon,
and authentic depiction of the jazz scene in Paris
from the late 1940s to the early 1960s.
Besides Herbie and Dexter, musicians performing include
Ron Carter, Billy Higgins, Freddie Hubbard,
Bobby Hutcherson, John McLaughlin, Pierre Michelot,
Wayne Shorter, Cedar Walton, Tony Williams,
with vocals by Bobby McFerrin, Chet Baker, and Lonette McKee.
