Please join us for Transpositive on KBOO Community Radio on Tuesday, September 5th as we discuss current events. This week we will be discussing the murder of Laura Ann Carleton and the assualt of Brock Emmet. We are joined this week by Jean, Nicolette, Sheila, and Emma.
Brock Emmet is a transgender man who was stalked by the police, assualted in front of a 7-11, beaten in the head 8 times by an LA County Deputy, sexually assaulted at intake, fired from his job and charged with 3 felonies with no cause. Although he eventually had all charges dismissed he still lost his job as a teacher. We will also be discussing the murder of Laura Ann Carleton, a shop owner and member of a prominent design family who was killed in her shop by a man who was offended at her display of a pride flag. Carleton's murder captured the attention of the national media because her murder represents the current reality people face even in California when expressing support for LGBTQIA+ rights.
