Budget cuts: analysis and protest
Tom Becker hosts this show which fights back against the budget cutting, service slashing attack on government services fueled by illusions of national poverty. The show opens with a rousing speech by Michael Moore to the protesters in Madison, and follows up with an analysis of the deficit and its causes with Chuck Collins of the Institute for Policy Studies. Then Bill Resnick talks with organizers of Portland Rising, the protest march and rally coming up this Saturday. Through out the show, we hear music of the Greek diaspora of the 1920s and '30s, and conclude with a conversation about it with radical musicologist Brad Duncan.
