Political debates may be influenced by facts but they’re decided by beliefs. Gun control is a prime example of this truism. On this edition of Prison Pipeline we hear from Deborah Azrael, PhD, director of research at the Harvard Injury Control Research Center, and Joseph Simonetti, MD, MPH a faculty member in the Injury & Violence Prevention Center at the Colorado School of Public Health and an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, who spoke on a panel entitled How Human Risk Perception Plays Into Gun Ownership and Gun Safety” at an Association for Health Care Journalists summit on Reporting on Violence as a Public Health Issue
