Bagby Lives! That's right...The Forest Service is not privatising Bagby - at least not yet and at least not behind closed doors. At least not some doors. The Forest Service is anything but. The doors to timber industry lobbyiests are orever open to some but not to others. And if there is any way to sell off the rights to Bagby, trust the Forest Service to find and exploit them. To the Service, forests are crops and hot springs are attractions. None the less, there will be a public comment period duringf January. I imagine they want to get that nuisance out of the way so the "golden arches" will be in place by Memorial Day... If you want o get the public comment period off to a banging new year, here's the number to call at the Forest Service: 503-860-4705, That will get you Kathleen Walker. Her email is kwalker@fs.fed.us. It took 500 fast responses to Bark's original email to get us this far. So keep those calls and letters coming...
Expect more on the Conservatorship Corkscrew: It could happen to you...It will almost certainly be abused as a means of silencing whistleblowers. It's the one you never saw coming.
And tune in Monday to hear economist Steve Seninger on the Great Tar Sand Sinkhole that's about to swallow more jobs as it evacuates the bowels of the earth...
