Members of a right-wing militia group sought “protection” for a Texas representative believed to have “critical data.” At the same time, inside the Capitol building, former President Donald Trump supporters violently breached it on Jan. 6.
On Monday, a late-night court filing charging Edward Vallejo, 63, and other anti-government Oath Keepers militia members were in near-constant contact in the days leading up to Jan. 6. And on Jan. 6, when hundreds of Trump supporters overran police at the Capitol and temporarily stopped Congress from certifying Joe Biden‘s win in the 2020 presidential election.
