For the love of community radio, Christine Havrilla and Jacob $hue return to our studios to play more live music. This duo rocked our studios a couple of weeks ago, and tonight they'll have the mics for most of the show!
Christine & Jacob start off the show with Blinders from Christine's CD "Velocity".
Sasha interviews Violet from the Trans Women's Heart Circle, and they talk about Violet's work in our community.
Next we hear Christine Havrilla and Jacob Shue play Everyday. Then they encourage everyone to sing along to Take Another Look. Both songs are from the "In My Chair" CD.
In a moment of seriousness, Carla shares the names, ages and some other details about the recent suicides that have happened in the past 30 days in our country. The level of anti-gay-hate is rising and it's costing us the LIVES of our next generation.
Raymond Chase was a sophomore at Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island when he took his own life. The case that has been getting the most attention is about Tyler Clementi, a freshman at Rutgers who jumped off the George Washington bridge to his death after his roommate allegedly streamed images of him having sex with another man. Seth Walsh was a 13-year-old middle school student from California who hung himself after having been tormented by classmates who perceived him to be gay. Asher Brown was a 13-year-old from Texas who shot himself after his parents say he was bullied for his small size, religion and because they thought he was gay. Billy Lucas was a 15-year-old from Indiana who hung himself. Justin Aaberg was 15-year-old from Minnesota who killed himself after being bullied for being gay and breaking up with his boyfriend.

Queer youth organizers are planning a national day of action: Spirit Day This is happening on October 20th, 2010. Please wear purple in honor of the 6 gay youth who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse.
Personally, I'm asking you to reach out to youth in your life, especially youth who are 'different'. One voice can make a difference.
