This episode of the Food Show features interviews with two organizations working to build health and community among Black Oregonians: the Black Oregon Land Trust and the PreSERVE Coalition

The Black Oregon Land Trust BOLT  is working to create opportunities for Black farmers in Oregon to own land, build generational health and wealth, and birth sovereign, thriving communities. Today you’ll hear from two BOLT leaders: farmer Shantae Johnson, of Mudbone Grown, and AnAkA, an artist and herbalist, share their beautiful vision for the land trust.

In the second half of the show, we’ll learn about the PreSERVE Coalition from LaTroy Robinson, a co-chair of the coalition and a research assistant at Oregon Health & Science University’s Clinical Physiology and Chronobiology program. The Preserve Coalition is building community and collaborating in research that aims to reduce health disparities among older African Americans.
