At the start of Black History Month, this episode of Early Morning Gumbo will focus on African American artists.  We'll include acoustic blues musicians and songsters from the past as well as a new generation of Black artists dedicated both to preserving tradition and to making contemporary statements with their music.  Of course, we'll also take note of the Zydeco/Creole music from African American communities of rural Louisiana and nearby.
