KBOO is excited to be a media sponsor for the 36th Portland International Film Festival,
presented by the NW Film Center. This year KBOO is sponsoring LA CAMIONETA: THE
JOURNEY OF ONE AMERICAN SCHOOL BUS by Mark Kendall.
Every day, dozens of decommissioned school buses leave the United States and migrate
through Mexico to Guatemala, where they are repaired, repainted, and reborn as the
brightly colored camionetas that bring most Guatemalans to work. Kendall’s lyrical film
follows the migration of one Pennsylvania bus as well as the personal stories of five
individuals whose lives become intertwined with its transformation.
LA CAMIONETA, has two screenings, which both take place at the World Trade Center
Theater (121 SW Salmon Street), on Feb. 9 at 6:00pm and Feb. 17 at 7:30pm. Click here for a full PIFF schedule and to purchase tickets online.
