"Indian Country" has aired every other Friday from 1:30-3:00 pm. It will be off the air for the month of August until further notice.
KBOO is previewing other shows during this time slot. Hopefully there will be more of a need for Native American program. Native Americans are very under- represented in this country and around the world, wherever we are. It has been our plight since the European invasion times of old. We have to fight for every inch that we get to communicate with each other across the miles and assert our rights as human beings..
We, as the People , would like and need to receive news information and traditional music available outside of the Powwows. We also would like to be able to hear modern Indian music , that no other stations air to the public, EXCEPT on reservations, community and PBS radio and television stations.
So if you feel the same way, let KBOO know that you would like to keep "Indian Country" on the air, by emailing or calling the studio : Phone: 503-231-8032 ask for Chris Merrick's extention, fax message: 503-231-7145,atten: programing, or email : Chris Merrick, : chrism_8032@yahoo.com
I'm postings photos of the Indian World and the later show called Indian Country staff.:
Photos of John Talley, founder of the Native shows at KBOO for 33 years. Photos of Samantha, Redwillow, Louis Sowa and the late, beloved Bruce Crispen. Bruce was also with the Wisdom of the Elders and the Native Storytellers Assoc. He is sorely missed by us all.oho.
