Today, Dave DeAngelis speaks with scientist and historian Naomi Oreskes about her new book "The Merchants of Doubt,"which describes how organized campaigns undermine the scientific evidence related to important environmental and health issues such as second-hand smoke, acid rain, the ozone hole, and global warming.

We'll also hear from Amber Case portland's cyborg anthropologist. She spoke last month at the Portland Broadband Strategic Plan workgroup. I had the opportunity to speak with Amber and ask her opinion of where Portland ranks in the race to be the most tekky town. Free beginning programming workshop are available for women wanting to learn Ruby on Rails. This inaugural workshop will focus on web development with Ruby. The workshop is free. You must attend both the Friday evening install fest and the Saturday workshop.
