PDX Pop Now! on 07/23/11

Air date:
Sat, 07/23/2011 - 9:45pm - Sun, 07/24/2011 - 12:30am
Short Description:
Every July, the festival, which showcases up to 50 of Portland’s finest bands, draws huge audiences

We are pleased to be broadcasting live from the outdoor stage at PDX Pop Now this year.

The three day festival, which started on the 22nd and runs through the 24th, features 44 bands from Portland and the environs playing all kinds of music. It's free and taking place at Refuge PDX, 116 SE Yamhill.

If you come by during the day, be sure to stop at the KBOO booth & say hi.

9:50: Dusu Mali (Pan African Jazz, Afro Beat, Blues, & Funk)
10:30: Purple & Green (electro-funk)
11:10: Witch Mountain (stoner/doom rock)
11:50: Nurses (off-kilter psych-pop)

Is there an argument for making the speaker liable, instead of KBOO? The performers surely were advised of FCC considerations when they agreed to broadcast of their set. This would, in my view, bolster the position that the F-bombs caught the remote crew off-guard, and did so precisely because the broadcast agreement would lead a reasonable person to believe that there would be no F-bombs. The time (after 10pm) must also be a factor.

Hi- Thanks for your concern

Thanks for your concern regarding the indeceny during the live remote, but according to the FCC if they happen after 10PM, then it's not a concern. Because we were unfamiliar with many of the bands we decided to play it safe and only broadcast after 10PM.
