Air date:
Wed, 04/06/2011 - 11:00am - 12:00pm
Short Description:
The Bike Show Looks at how cycling is developing across the nation.

Watch out, Portland! (Or more accurately, watch this). Bike coordinators and advocates from across North America discuss how their cities are taking the lead on cycling-- including bike sharing programs, off road trail developments and much more. Portland may be a forerunner in cycling, but these cities are inspiring and quickly on the way to becoming bike meccas themselves. Guest Randy Neufield, National advocate with the SRAM Cycling Fund, will give our listeners a broad perspective on where and how cycling is affecting transportation nationwide.

Other guests include:

  • Timothy Papandreou, Deputy Director of Transportation Planning for the Sustainable Streets Division of San Francisco's Municipal Transit Agency
  • Charles Gandy, Mobility Coordinator, City of Long Beach
  • Yvonne Bambrick, founding Director of the Toronto Cyclists' Union
  • Caroline Samponaro, Director of Bicycle Advocacy for Transportation Alternatives, NYC
  • Neil Trembley, trail and bicycle advocate in Minneapolis
  • Scott Robinson, Transportation Planner with the City of Bloomington, IN
