Short Description:
"Stayin' Alive: The 1970'2 and the Last Days of the Working Class."

Host Michelle Schroeder Fletcher interviews Jefferson Cowie, author of "Stayin' Alive: The 1970'2 and the Last Days of the Working Class." Prize-winning historian Cowie writes about what happened to working people in the last great recession. He sees the 1970's as a crucial and poorly understood transition from the optimism of New Deal America to the widening economic inequalities and dampened expectations of the present.
