Need a primer for PDX Pop Now? What's the big deal with this thing?
Portland's music scene is largely collaborative; cooperation trumps competition. PDX Pop Now! stems from the idea of "local music emboldened by local recognition," and that Portland’s self-sustained scene had reached a level deserving of recognition, discovery, enhancement, stimulation, participation, accessibility and—most importantly—celebration!
We'll be playing PDX Pop Now artists from this year and past years: Viva Voce, Menomena, Red Fang, Mrs. Su'ad, YACHT, 1939 Ensemble, Sunset Valley, Angry Orts, The Minders, Dharma Bums, Explode Into Colors, Talkdemonic, Nucular Animals, Copracrescent, March Fourth Marching Band, Purple & Green, Nurses, E*Rock, Loch Lomond, Musee Mecanique, and Kelli Schaefer.
