Tomorrow on Wednesday, May 26th at 6 pm is Poetry Open Mic Night, located at Ledding Library Pond House – 2215 SE Harrison Street, Milwaukie.


This open mic night takes place on the last Wednesday of every month.

Also tomorrow on Wednesday, May 26th at 6:30 pm is the Write Around Portland Spring Anthology Release Party and Community Reading.


Join Write Around Portland for a free reading featuring writers from their Spring workshops at First United Methodist Church, Collins Hall, 1838 SW Jefferson St. at the TriMet Goosehollow MAX stop.


Everyone is welcome - readers, writers, friends, family. ADA-accessible. Free (but limited) parking available. Childcare provided, but please call ahead if you need it - 503.796.9224.




And tomorrow night at 8 pm, be ready to share and/or hear “everything from music and poetry to monologues” at the weekly open mic at the Alberta Street Pub, located at 1036 NE Alberta Street in Portland. Hosted by Tamara J. Brown, this 21 and over event has a sign-up at 7:30 pm sharp.

Coming up on Tuesday, June 1st at 6 pm, enjoy an opening reception for artists Diane Avio-Augee, Dick and Jane Millager and PDX!WAM at Walters Cultural Arts Center 527 E Main Street Hillsboro, OR 97124.


Diane Avio-Augee paints large-scale abstract expressionistic works inspired by a variety of sources, including music, contemporary western poetry, Chinese painting and nature. 


Dick and Jane Millager are artisans who work with wood.


PDX!WAM brings together a small group of women abstract artists who meet monthly for critiques, ideas and inspiration.

On Wednesday, June 2nd at 7 pm, join the Cascade Blues Association, for its monthly general membership meeting, at the Melody Ballroom, located at 615 SE Alder Street in Portland.


Bob Shoemaker will perform the opening acoustic set, while Cee Cee James will perform the second electric set. All ages are welcome.
