Today on The Songcircle, we're thrilled to welcome longtime Portland blues hero Kelly Joe Phelps and his duet partner, Corinne West, into the KBOO studios for a chat and some live tunes, in advance of their show tomorrow night at the Alberta Rose Theater. (We'll have a few tickets to give away to lucky listeners, too. (Get ready for some great roots/blues music featuring powerful songs, haunting vocal harmonies, and complex, captivating picking. We'll also spin some other great male/female duos, including Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, Chip Taylor and Carrie Rodriguez, and of course, Gram and Emmylou.
