City of Tualatin presents a Giant Pumpkin Regatta on Saturday 10-2. Giant pumpkins will race across the lake at Tualatin Commons. http://www.ci.tualatin.or.us/ Oregon Bounty and Lake Oswego Parks and Recreation present Harvest Fest on Saturday 3-6pm, featuring 'Trick or Treat Street', games, and a pumpkin recipe contest. Portland Parks and Recreation holds monthly work parties in rotating parks, as part of the pesticide-free program. There is a gathering at Sewallcrest Park on the 1st Sunday of the month 10am-noon, which is this weekend. Gloves and tools are provided. http://www.portlandonline.com/parks/
November 1st is Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), an opportunity to honor those who have passed.
In Portland, there will be a procession starting at 3pm on 4th Avenue and Yamhill, proceeding down 4th Avenue into Old Town. Participants are also invited to gather beforehand at 1:30 at Someday Lounge to create community alters, along with guest artists. This free, all ages event will wind down with traditional hot chocolate and tamales.
