KBOO COMMUNITY CALENDAR TUESDAY September 29th 2009

 

This is Paula with the KBOO Community Calendar for Tuesday, September 29th 2009.

Tonight at 8 pm at the Alberta Street Pub, located at 1036 NE Alberta Street, will be a free screening of short movies co-hosted by Portland Film dot org.

Audience members will cast their votes throughout the evening for the audience choice award.

 

Tomorrow on Wednesday, September 30th at 6:30 pm join Portland By Cycle for: All Season Cycling, a workshop to learn how to ride, comfortably and safely, in all types of wonderful Oregon weather. Meet at St. John’s Community Center, located at 8427 N Central St.

Next Tuesday, October 6th at 6 pm is an opening reception for artists Howard Bruner, Ed Kornbrath, Sarah Trefny and Jane Vanderzanden at Walters Cultural Arts Center 527 E Main Street Hillsboro, OR 97124 . The reception is followed by a special First Tuesday Concert in the Theatre at 7:30 pm. The concert features Gideon Freudmann using his electric cello to accompany the classic silent vampire film Nosferatu.

Coming up on Tuesday, October 20th at 7 pm is the Open Poetry Reading in the Gallery at Walters Cultural Arts Center 527 E Main Street Hillsboro, OR 97124.

Poets and lovers of poetry alike will enjoy these evenings of readings in the gallery, every second Tuesday of the month. Readers and listeners are welcome to enjoy works by established or yet to be discovered talent. A sign-up sheet is available, so please arrive early.
