In what could be a landmark case for internet free speech, A federal judge ruled today that activist group rise up dot net could not be forced to turn over lists of its email subscribers in response to a subpoena. The subpoena was part of a lawsuit against queer rights group Bashback, which was sued for holding a demonstration at an arch conservative Baptist church in 2008. KBOO Reporter Thomas Phillips spoke about the case with Larry Hildes of the National Lawyers Guild center for democratic communication.
