“Powerful members of the Washington State Senate” are on board with a plan to tax crude oil shipped into the state by rail. The money raised would pay for oil spill response and clean up. It would? How do we know what the clean-up is going to cost? Why not just dump the money in the river to soak up the oil….?

The Paramount Petroleum asphalt plant, was recently sold to a an investment firm and leased to Arc Logistics Partners LP for use as a crude oil terminal. Arc Terminals, the operating subsidiary of Arc Logistics, runs 17 facilities throughout the country. Federal data show one third of those facilities have been found out of compliance with EPA regulations in the past three years. What the hell another Superfund Site at add to our list...
